I’m an editor who would love to help you craft a pitch that will land you an agent, offer critical insight to your working manuscript, or polish your scholarly paper to any style standard for professional publication. I love working with passionate authors on meaningful projects, and I want to help you produce your best writing.

I have nine years of experience substantive editing, copy editing, and proofreading a range of materials, from academic papers that have been published in scholarly journals to young adult and middle grade manuscripts. I earned a BA in English Literature from Brigham Young University in 2014, where I minored in editing and graduated magna cum laude.

During my undergrad, I worked for the Humanities Publication Center and edited faculty papers for publication. I loved working in the scholarly world, helping ensure a clear message for relevant publications, editing to a variety of journal styles, and perfecting footnotes. I’ve been hooked on academia ever since, editing scholarly publications on a freelance basis.  I also interned at boutique literary agency A + B Works for three years under the mentorship of Amy Jameson. As an intern, I read hundreds of queries and evaluated dozens of young adult and middle grade manuscripts. I participated in Twitter contests such as #PitMad and learned what makes a Twitter pitch successful, and I continue to participate in #MockPit, giving advice to Twitter pitch participants. I’ve also worked as an editor and proofreader on a variety of nonfiction, such as memoirs, self-help books, and recipe books.

If you think I’m the right person for your project, please reach out! If you need some convincing, send me a few pages of your project with requirements and I can send you a sample edit for free. I’m excited to work with you!
